Citizens Bank is inviting Fintech startups, students, tech enthusiasts and others to put their creativity and talent to work to solve some of the thorniest issues currently faced by banks at its first ever Hackathon, to be held July 27 through July 29 at District Hall in Boston.
The event will be a fast-paced, 24-hour challenge aimed at developing data-driven solutions to overcome daily operational challenges. Participants will access simulated data in a mock environment to tackle one of the four Hackathon themes and bring their ideas to life. The four themes are:
1. 360° Engagement: How can Citizens consolidate all the information that it has about its customers in one place?
2. Liquidity Crystal Ball: What tools can Citizens develop to help customers understand their cash-flow challenges?
3. AI and Digital Engagement: How can Citizens leverage AI platforms to increase its response rate and support capabilities to its customers?
4. Social Banking: How can Citizens better deliver more personalized products to its customers?
There will be a $10,000 grand prize for the best overall app. Other prizes will be awarded for best commercial app, and best consumer app.
“Technology has transformed banking in unprecedented ways, and there is no limit to the insight and resourcefulness that a gathering like this can generate,” said Beth Johnson, Chief Marketing Officer and Head of Virtual Channels at Citizens Bank. “We’re excited to see what these tech-savvy teams can develop to help us deliver an even better customer experience in line with our overall goal of helping our customers reach their potential.”
