Join Materiom Boston in partnership with Fab@CIC to create materials recipes from the abundant natural resources local to the Boston ecosystem. Learn how art and experimentation are driving Boston towards it goal to become a more sustainable city!


Materiom Boston is pleased to offer a special ArtWeek twist to their weekend workshop series. Rather than breaking up the workshops into two parts (making the biomaterials and then using them in the FabLab equipment) we will offer both parts of the process in one jam-packed night! Participants will have the opportunity to make a materials recipe and transform the materials using fabrication tools to create beautiful and useful things such as reusable bags, tiles, and molds. By the end of the workshop, participants will have learned a bit about the scientific method, a pinch of chemistry, and a handful of digital fabrication tricks, a whole lot about sustainability.
