The Boston Chocolate School invites you to experience Chocolate 101, a Saturday afternoon chocolate tasting that provides you and your fellow chocolate-lovers with a sweet experience unlike any other. Explore the history and tasting experience of one of the world’s most popular sweets — chocolate! Participants enjoy chocolate tasting with a master chocolatier, Tim Brown, also a culinary instructor at Johnson & Wales. Experience different varieties of chocolate from white to extra dark and many in between.


Chocolate 101 explores the rich history and travels of the cacao bean, from the mountains of Peru and its divine history among royals to the sweet delicacies we enjoy today. From bean to bar, you will learn how chocolate is made, from the original growth of the cacao bean to its harvest, processing, and preparation.


Chocolate 101 also features a chocolate tasting, which teaches you how to truly experience and enjoy chocolate of different flavors and nuances. You will also be offered the opportunity to sample chocolate from local artisans across New England – from stone ground, organic chocolate to delicate truffles – our samples vary from month to month and season to season.


Details:
The Boston Chocolate School Truffle Making Workshop takes place on select Saturdays at Foundation Kitchen in Somerville.


The 90-minute workshop starts at 12 PM.


Advance tickets are required as this workshop usually sells out.
