The onset of autumn means more than pumpkin spice; it means the beginning of a season of gathering and celebration. Join the Chelmsford Community Concert Band for a selection of songs and dances inspired by Slavic traditions and raise a virtual glass to togetherness. The program will be directed by Lucinda Ellert and features selections such as Smetana’s “The Moldau,” Dvořák’s “Slavonic Dances,” and Daugéla’s “Polonez.” The festivities start at 2pm on Sunday, October 28, at the Chelmsford Senior Center in North Chelmsford.
Admission to this concert is free, but the band greatly appreciates donations to help purchase new music and to pay for rehearsal space. Recommended donations are $10 for adults, and $5 for children and seniors. Baked goods and refreshments will be available for an additional donation.
The Chelmsford Community Band was founded in 1972 and is a volunteer group of adult musicians who greatly enjoy bringing live music to the greater Chelmsford area. The band plays several concerts throughout the year including weekly appearances on Chelmsford Common every summer.
