There are few works as spirited and carefree as Schubert’s “Trout” Quintet, with its beguiling brook, darting fish, and sparkling waters. Guy Ropartz also brings a charming, colorful touch to his 1928 Prélude, marine et chansons for flute, strings, and harp. David Bruce muses on water’s life-affirming power with The Consolation of Rain and Hanns Eisler captures the moods and textures of a storm in his cinematic Fourteen Ways to Describe the Rain. Rippling, rumbling, streaming, showering… Chameleon Arts Ensemble closes its 26th season with a splish, a splash, and a buoyant encounter with nature.
