The critically-acclaimed Chameleon Arts Ensemble continues its 20th anniversary season with a chamber music program at the crossroads of poetry, language, and cadence titled “of voice and verse” on November 4 and 5. Aaron Copland’s Twelve Poems of Emily Dickinson for soprano and piano perfectly capture the pioneering poet’s lyrical rhythms and unique style of pauses and dashes. Joseph Schwantner layers notes like syllables in his shimmering Music of Amber and Augusta Read Thomas channels a 900-year old verse in Rumi Settings for violin and viola. Finally, Maurice Ravel adopts a form of Malaysian poetry for his magnificent Piano Trio.
