Legendary Rapper Rakim and Iconic Dancers The Wondertwins
Africana Studies proudly presents the 4th Annual Celebration of Hip-Hop & Hall of Fame Induction! This year, we're welcoming two absolute legends into the Berklee Hip-Hop Hall of Fame: Rakim and The Wondertwins!
Rakim "The God MC"
Near-universally acknowledged as one of the greatest MC's of all time, Rakim pioneered the use of internal rhymes, clever metaphors, and a signature smooth, jazz-inflected flow. His work, especially with Eric B., fundamentally changed lyricism and elevated the MC technique to an art form.
The Wondertwins
Billy & Bobby McClain are legendary, award-winning street dance pioneers. From their early days opening for Run-DMC and LL Cool J to their record-setting six wins on Showtime at The Apollo, their dynamic breakdance showcases are a vital part of Hip-Hop and Boston cultural history.
The Concert
The night will feature performances by three talented Berklee student Hip-Hop artists Kaleb Reyna, Dakari David and Amiri Moreno with special performances by the dynamic Wondertwins and an unforgettable closing set by Rakim featuring material he is putting together just for us!
