PLEASE NOTE: ALL PARTICIPANTS ARE REQUIRED TO PRE-REGISTER ON THE EVENT PAGE FOR THIS CLEANUP BEFORE THE DEADLINE OF 8AM ON 25 JULY 2020.
With Massachusetts cautiously reopening, it’s time for the Surfrider Foundation MA Chapter, in collaboration with our friends with Clean Up BOSTON, to carefully get back into the swing of summer beach cleanups with an event at Carson Beach in South Boston!
Of course, even with the local situation having improved in Massachusetts, we are still in the midst of pandemic. This cleanup will take place with extra precautions and some major differences from ‘pre-COVID-19’ cleanups.
We’ve pulled together full details on the event page - please read the page carefully. Here are some highlights:
- All participants are REQUIRED to pre-register before participating. The deadline for this is 8AM on Saturday 25 July 2020.
- Start times for participants will be staggered to limit density at the meeting site. Please pick an open time slot that works for you when you register.
- All participants will be required to wear a face covering during the event and guidance is in place to help maintain 6ft physical distancing.
- Please carefully consider the risks of attending. Stay home if you or someone you are in close contact with is in a high-risk group, has recently had any symptoms, or suspects recently being exposed. There are many way to protect the ocean from home and please feel free to reach out if you’d like any ideas!
Please bring your own work gloves, face covering, and food/drink for this cleanup.
We’ll still provide sanitized buckets and tongs for trash collection, as well as gear for data collection and plenty of hand sanitizer.
We sincerely thank you for your help and cooperation, especially during these times, and thank you for your interest in protecting and enjoying the ocean! We’re looking forward to seeing some of you at the beach!
