Come celebrate East Somerville at the 8th annual Carnaval - the June Somerstreets festival, presented by East Somerville Main Streets, the City of Somerville, and the Somerville Arts Council.

On SUNDAY, June 4th from 2-6pm Lower Broadway in East Somerville (East Broadway from McGrath Highway to Pennsylvania Ave by Sullivan Square T stop) will be closed to cars but open to to thousands of people to enjoy awesome music, performances from community groups, interactive activities, and food from all over the world.

Performances from Zili Musik, Grupo Los Nitidos, A Nova Brazil, La Nueva Serie, Somerville Symphony Orkestrar, Electrolux Combo, Loma Larga Banda de la Paz, and DJ Sotomatic. Attend a concert from Somerville’s own string section from El Sistema, hear performances by Girls Rock Band, marimba music from the students at the East Somerville Community School, and see dances from On Stage Dance Company and Rancho Folclórico Corações Lusíadas.

Volvemos a celebrar el Carnaval el domingo 4 de junio, de 2 a 6 de la tarde (en Somerville al este de la calle Broadway entre McGrath y Pensilvania Ave, cerca de Sullivan Square). El Carnaval es entretenimiento para toda la familia completamente gratis. EN CASO DE LLUVIA se pospondrá hasta el domingo 11 de junio.

Podrán disfrutar de lo mejor de los pequeños negocios y la comunidad del Este de Broadway incluyendo comida, música y cultura de alrededor del mundo: Mexico, El Salvador, Etiopia, Haiti, Portugal, Italia, Estados Unidos y sabores asiáticos. El festival empieza con un desfile a las 2:00 de la tarde que sale de Senior Center en 165 de la Broadway, y continúa con actuaciones musicales con sonidos africanos, caribeños, brasileños, gypsy rock y jazz.
