MELROSE, MA — The Coffee Shop Artists group, in collaboration with the Friends of the Middlesex Fells Reservation, is pleased to present “Caring for Nature in Our Community - Art Inspired by The Middlesex Fells Area” at The Beebe Estate Art Gallery from August 28 through September 30. The exhibition is supported by The Beebe Estate, the Melrose Cultural Council, and Mass Cultural Council.
Free opening night reception is held on Friday, August 28, from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at The Beebe Estate, located at 235 W. Foster Street, Melrose. At 7:30 PM, Chris Redfern, Executive Director of the Friends of the Fells, will deliver a talk titled “Caring for the Fells”.
The Beebe Estate Gallery is open to visitors every Saturday from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Featured artists will be present during gallery hours.
In addition, the Friends of the Fells will host a family-friendly “Restoration in Action” nature walk on Saturday, September 19. Led by Maddie Morgan, Field Programs Manager at the Friends of the Middlesex Fells Reservation, the 90-minute walk will transition from The Beebe to a trail location inside the Fells. Participants are asked to arrive by 1:15 PM, dress appropriately, and plan to carpool to the trail. Free registration is required via Eventbrite.
About Coffee Shop Artists
This year marks the 10th anniversary of the group. Originating in a local coffee shop, the collective features artists from Malden, Medford, Melrose, and surrounding communities.
About Friends of the Fells
Founded on the conservation movements of the 1880s and 1890s, the organization envisions a sanctuary where people and nature coexist harmoniously.
