Join us for the world premiere of Peter Child’s Lamentations alongside J.S. Bach’s cantatas BWV 2, “Ach Gott, vom Himmel sieh darein,” a cantata never performed in Cantata Singers’ 54-year history, and BWV 21, “Ich hatte viel Bekümmernis.” Inspired by a contemporary poetic translation of the Lamentations from the Old Testament by writer David Rosenberg, Lamentations explores the themes of loss and turmoil, also echoed in BWV 2 and 21. Lamentations is Cantata Singers’ 15th commission and second commission of Peter Child.

Composer Peter Child will give a pre-concert talk, free to all ticketholders, at 7pm in Williams Hall.
Following the performance, all are invited to attend a free post-concert reception.

Single Tickets: $25-$75 | Discounts for students, seniors, and groups
