Ellwood Epps & Togetherness! playing Jazz music of South African and beyond
The Creative Music Series Presents Ellwood Epps & Togetherness!
Covid-19 protocols in affect: face covers
Togetherness! began in Montreal in 2016, and the Boston edition was born in 2019. Both groups have been active across Canada and the US, performing joyful, adventurous, swinging music from South Africa and beyond. At the heart of the music are compositions by Abdullah Ibrahim, Dudu Pukwana, Johnny Dyani, William Parker, Don Cherry, Ellwood Epps, and more.
The band you'll hear brings together 6 of the Boston area's strongest, freest, and most distinct musicians in a highly unified group sound which aims to uplift the band and listeners together.
Jeb Bishop (trombone),
Jorrit Dijkstra (saxophones),
Nathan McBride (bass),
Curt Newton (drums),
Matt Crane (percussion),
Ellwood Epps (trumpet).
