Join us September 29th and 30th for the 10th annual Cambridge Arts Open Studios, a city-wide celebration of visual and performing artists. Albertine Press will be hosting local artists Rebecca Scott Jewelry and yeiou paper objects, giving free letterpress demonstrations, and much more!
~Find out more about Albertine- from classic and elegant to witty and irreverent - Albertine Press is a Cambridge-based design and letterpress print shop run by Shelley Barandes, a sometime-architect who just loved paper more. Their studio in Cambridge is home to many antique presses of varying vintage and function; table top platens for demonstrations, a Heidelberg Windmill for large scale production, a C&P "jobber" they use for die cutting, and a lovely little Vandercook #4 proof press. Their inks are hand-mixed and many of their machines are hand-fed.
~Abigail McMurray of yeiou paper objects, teaches origami and paper crafting workshops at Albertine Press, and she will be on hand with her line of paper craft project kits and original paper art, as well as workshop project samples so you can plan ahead for fall crafting.
~Camberville based jeweler, Rebecca Scott makes each piece from scratch in her Somerville, MA studio. Using only responsibly sourced precious metals, precious and semi precious stones and age-old techniques, every piece is designed and made by hand to be worn and loved long and often. Rebecca's work is modern, minimal and timeless in it's appeal.
