On Friday, May 30th 2025, join us in celebrating an abbreviated version of the successful Cambodians in Amherst: The History of the Khmer Community exhibit at the State House. Developed by the Amherst Historical Society, Amherst Media, and the Cambodian community of Amherst. This exhibit features oral histories, archival photos, and personal narratives, the exhibit honors stories of survival and community building after the Cambodian genocide.
Originally launched in May 2024, the exhibit saw far-reaching success, leading to its extension into the fall. In honor of Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, and with support from Representative Mindy Domb’s office, the exhibit will be showcased on display panels, including four new ones highlighting the creative process and behind-the-scenes footage. QR codes on the panels will guide you to moving stories from survivors of the Khmer Rouge
