A Narrative of Reverence to Our Foremothers in Gynecology
In partnership with the Resilient Sisterhood Project, Urban Farming Institute will host the groundbreaking exhibition, Call and Response: A Narrative of Reverence to Our Foremothers in Gynecology. This free, public one-day viewing highlights the stories of Anarcha, Betsey, and Lucy—three young enslaved ancestors whose bodies were used for medical experiments during the 1840s by Dr. James Marion Sims in Montgomery, Alabama.
