Cabin In the Sky: Look Up.

An immersive exploration of heritage, resilience and community by Ifé Franklin.


This is a free, three-day outdoor Afrofuturist activation by artist Ifé Franklin in Franklin Park. The ancestral Slave/Freedom Cabin becomes a mothership, a vessel carrying the souls of our ancestors toward freedom. Through an Ancestor Procession, a Hush Harbor, projection, soundscape, ring shout, and community ritual, we gather across past, present, and future. Dressed in white, we walk into the realm of the ancestors. Look up.


The event entrance is at the corner of Walnut Ave and Park Ln in Jamaica Plain near the White Stadium.


This event is presented through the Un-Monument Project, the City of Boston Mayor's Office of Arts and Culture, the Mellon Foundation with fiscal sponsorship by The Theater Offensive.
