Illinois, 1861. Proclaimed insane by her husband, Elizabeth Packard is committed against her will to an asylum. Inspired by true events, Emily Mann’s stunning American drama chronicles one woman’s struggle to fight for her life and, in the process, right a system gone wrong.


After co-producing a critically acclaimed production of The Libertine in 2013, Bridge Rep and Playhouse Creatures will team up once again to bring Mrs. Packard to the Multicultural Arts Center and the greater Boston community.


The play includes mature themes and brief nudity.
