Mics for the Missing Inc. (MFTMI), in partnership with Representative Chynah Tyler, invites communities across Greater Boston to Gourdin Park, Roxbury (across from B2 Police Station), for Break the Silence, a vigil to honor all missing and exploited individuals.
While Black women, girls, and BIPOC missing persons often suffer the deepest invisibility, this vigil is dedicated to all missing persons, survivors of exploitation, and their families. Through memorial activities, a talking drum remembrance, poetry performances, and spoken word, we reclaim memory and build collective power.
This event will also spotlight Bill H.3913, proposed legislation that aims to strengthen protections and oversight for missing and exploited individuals. We are encouraging our community and policymakers to support it actively.
