The Doo family is hosting our 3rd annual Cornhole tournament (last year we held a virtual trivia instead) to benefit moyamoya research at Boston Children's Hospital. Our daughter was diagnosed with Moyamoya in June 2019. Moyamoya is a very rare brain disease that causes the narrowing of the cerebral arteries. This narrowing results in strokes, and without surgery, death. Our daughter had her first surgery in June 2019, second in December 2020, and underwent her third surgery last week to help with her very aggressive advancement of the disease. We're hopeful she won't need another, but only time will determine that. The disease is genetic, so over the next 8 years our other children (we have 6) will all be monitored. 


Our goal is to raise $100,000 in the next three years that will continue funding her surgeon's research. 100% of the funds that we have raised go directly into the surgeon's trust. Our daughter's second and third surgeries were techniques that he was able to advance & pioneer thanks to the donations that we and others have been able to contribute. Because the disease is so rare, there is very little, if any funding to assist. This is our way to give back to the surgeon's help in saving our daughter's life. 


The event is held at Codman farm in Lincoln with a live band, bounce houses & pumpkin decorating for the kids, a cornhole tournament, raffles, & food trucks.
