Bowls are great projects for beginners and experienced woodworkers. Learn the basic skills needed to turn a bowl and turn on your own.
Class Description
Prerequisite: Wood Lathe 101 or successful tool test; please email [email protected] if you are unsure if this class is for you.
This two session class is intended for those with experience on a wood lathe and want to learn how to turn a bowl. This class covers face turning, which has important differences to spindle turning. Students will learn how to bring larger pieces to round and the basics of hollowing vessels (of which bowls are one type).
Instructor - Salvatore Mancini
Salvatore Mancini is a custom fabricator producing custom furniture and interior designs. He works primarily in wood using traditional techniques as well as digital fabrication. He got his start creating sets for theater productions and was inspired to pursue woodworking after restoring a wooden view camera.
