Join us as we welcome acclaimed chef and author Sami Tamimi for a special event celebrating his latest cookbook, Boustany. This book takes readers on a heartfelt journey through the food of Sami’s homeland, Palestine, offering a fresh perspective on beloved dishes. Each recipe is paired with the personal stories and traditions that shaped it — a tribute to the flavors of his childhood and the love his grandparents poured into their garden.
We’ll kick off the evening with a casual Q&A with Ana and Sami, giving us a chance to hear about the inspiration behind the book. Then, enjoy a buffet-style tasting featuring dishes from the book, prepared by the chefs at Sofra: Green beans, leek & tomato, carrots with tamarind & mint, fried eggplant m’atabbal, lentil fatteh, fried haloumi with purslane salad, ouzi phyllo parcels, pan-fried turmeric bread, chocolate date bars and sumac roast plums with cardamom cream.
