This class can be taken independently or as a part of the Botanical Embroidery series, by registering for the first class on April 25 - Essential Stitches
Course Summary
Designing for hand embroidery takes special attention to composition, scale, and texture. Bring your inspiration for botanical designs, and your instructor will guide you through the process of drawing a pattern for hand embroidery. In addition to your embroidery pattern, you will create a stitch plan and color palette to help bring your inspiration to life in beautiful hand embroidery art. This class is Part II in the Botanical Embroidery series, but Part I is not required as a prerequisite for this class. We recommend some previous hand embroidery experience and basic drawing skills for this class.
What we will do
Draw a floral or botanical embroidery design
Create a stitch plan and color palette
Transfer your design and begin stitching
Each participant will take home
Their own hand-drawn embroidery pattern
Their custom stitch plan and color palette
Note: Students can bring their own fabric and embroidery floss if they wish (recommended if you have a particular color or fiber type preference) or use supplies provided by The Makery.
