The Boston Symphony Orchestra will perform Beethoven’s Symphony No. 5 on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, as part of its Explorer Concert series.
Want to learn more about orchestral music or want to introduce friends and family to the magic of the symphony while hearing one of the genre’s all-time greatest hits? The Explorer Concert was created just for you! Composer, director, and writer Bill Barclay hosts this performance, taking audiences through the magic of Beethoven and one of the most famous pieces of music ever written: Symphony No. 5. Its iconic “da-da-da-dum” opens a world of drama and brings the audience on an unforgettable orchestral journey.
This concert is designed to help audience members of all ages connect to the music and better understand the concert-going experience in a fun and judgement-free evening. During the concert, audience members can use ConcertCue, a real-time program note web app that provides text, images, and other rich media about the performance directly to your personal device. After the concert, meet and mingle with fellow audience members and members of the BSO in the O’Block-Kay bar & lounge to make new connections.
