On the weekend of July 26-28, The Boston Globe, WGBH and Citizens Bank are once again coming together to host Boston Summer Arts Weekend. Performers include Dr. John, The Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Angelique Kidjo, and Allison Krauss.

Just like last year, we plan to bring together some of the best national and local performers to put a spotlight on the arts and all that Boston has to offer. But this year, we also want to celebrate the City of Boston and the amazing resilience of our community.

Over the past month, we have been inspired by the actions of individuals and a community that has come together to shine – just when we needed it most. The term Boston Strong is not just a slogan. It represents the spirit and strength of a community that reaches out, neighbor to neighbor. We have never been prouder to call ourselves Bostonians.

On July 26-28, we plan to celebrate this community. We invite everyone to come in to the city, enjoy the free performances, support the businesses and restaurants in the Back Bay and celebrate the strength and solidarity of Boston.

Friday, July 26: Celebrate America's homegrown music genres the first night of Boston Summer Arts Weekend. Friday night's lineup features blues, bluegrass, and jazz from up-and-coming acts like the Boston-based bluegrass group Della Rae as well as established acts like New Orleans' famous Preservation Hall Jazz Band.

Saturday, July 27: Traverse the world without stepping foot out of Copley Square. Saturday's Boston Summer Arts lineup features unique international musicians like Angelique Kidjo as well as musicans like Red Baraat that are making inroads into new genre blends.

Sunday, July 28: The last day of Boston Summer Arts Weekend focuses on the classical music tradition. Expect a lively lineup of musicians who bring innovative spins on the genre as well as some surprise collaborations among groups. Stay tuned for more artist details.
