Author and college professor Max Grinnell is your guide on this 90-minute tour through Boston's North End history.
Wait, there's a twist.
The tour is really about how the celebrated urbanist Jane Jacobs looked at the North End in her book "The Life and Death of Great American Cities" over 50 years ago.
It's a fun way to learn about the neighborhood's public spaces, art, streets, local culture, and along the way have a conversation about American cities more generally.
A bit more about Max: He's the author of 4 books and his writings on cities have appeared in the Boston Globe, the Chicago Tribune, the Guardian, and a host of other outlets. He teaches urban design and writing, and he's proud to say that he has received the key to the city from Carson City, Nevada.
