Picture this: the air is crisp, the leaves are tumbling down the street, and the veil of October is about to lift. The Poetry Brothel Boston invites you to slip into something cozy—or dangerous—for a night of poetry, burlesque, music, pole, drag, mysticism, and more.
Slumber parties have always been rites of passage: nights of secrets, dares, séances, nail polish, and whispered confessions in the dark. What will happen when the velvet curtains close around ours? There’s only one way to find out. Buy the ticket, take the ride…
Suggested Attire: PJs, onesies, lingerie, loungewear, vintage Final Girls—bring your wildest interpretation of sleepover chic.

What is The Poetry Brothel?
As The New Yorker describes: “A madam presents a rotating cast of poets, artists, and artisans who erupt into verse in public and lure guests into back rooms for private readings.”
Each artist inhabits a carefully crafted character—an alter ego that doubles as mask and liberation—inviting you into a world of uninhibited creativity, intimate connection, and poetic magic.
Our cast reflects the vibrant diversity of our city: cis and trans women, cis and trans men, genderqueer, genderfluid, and nonbinary artists; people of color; queer and straight; emerging and established voices. You might encounter faeries, sirens, witches, aliens, demons, royalty, or even an ancient forest—or perhaps, something entirely unexpected.
Note: While some of our artists engage in sex work outside of this space, The Poetry Brothel itself is a literary and immersive arts experience only.
