Beginning June 6 through October 2, The City of Boston will offer in-person and virtual classes led by certified fitness instructors. Classes are sponsored by the Boston Parks and Recreation Department, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts, and the Boston Public Health Commission.


Note: There will be no classes held on Sunday, July 4 (Independence Day) and Monday, September 6 (Labor Day).

MONDAYS:


Virtual Dance Fit with K-Energy: 5-6pm
Dance Fit is a cardio dance-based class that will get your heart pumping and hips shaking while combining strength moves to get you stronger! Move and dance to the beat while breaking a sweat and torching calories.


Virtual HIIT Training with Movestudios: 5-6pm
This class is a high intensity full-body class. Drew programs this training specifically so that every exercise is in place to be modified or intensified to individual needs. He will give you the highest level of accountability, motivation, and education through every signature class. No pre-registration needed.


Fitness: Family Fitness with Anthony: 6-7pm
Classes are designed to create bonding experiences, encourage healthy habits, and to teach new fitness activities. Classes held at Mclaughlin Playground, Jamaica Plain. No pre-registration needed.


Vinyasa Yoga with Carla: 6-7pm
Meet us in beautiful LoPresti Park looking out to the Boston Skyline for this outdoor yoga series. You will be offered safe modifications as the elements of nature and an outdoor environment come into play. Look forward to balancing your body and mind, getting some Vitamin D, and enjoying your neighborhood throughout these offerings. No pre-registration needed.


TUESDAYS:


Cardio & Core with Ella: 5:45-6:45pm
Spike your heart rate and work your whole core during this fun, high-energy workout suited for all levels. Participants will be led through a variety of movements to raise the heart rate and strengthen our center of gravity — the core! There will be some core movements on our hands and backs, so bring a mat if you prefer not to do these on the grass. No pre-registration needed.


Salsa with Metamovements: 6-7pm
Learn a variety of dance styles through Salsa Suelta line dancing with MetaMovements. Classes held at O'Day Playground, Boston. No pre-registration needed.


Ashtanga Yoga with Andy: 6-7pm
Ashtanga Yoga is an invigorating style of yoga that is based on a set sequence. Each week you will be led through 26 postures that will not only challenge you, but also bring you to a calm state afterwards. We tie in breath and movement and allow for many variations, so this class is for everyone. Classes held at Adams Park, Roslindale. No pre-registration needed.


Family Zumba with Carmen: 6-7pm
Family Zumba gives you and your family a chance to be active together. A total workout, combining all elements of fitness — cardio, muscle conditioning, balance and flexibility, boosted energy, and a serious dose of awesome each time you leave class. Classes held at Almont Park, Mattapan. No pre-registration needed.


Virtual Zumba with Z Spot: 6:30-7:30pm
Zumba involves energetic dance and aerobic elements. Instructors will provide choreographed moves of Hip-Hop, Soca, Samba, Salsa, Merengue, Mambo, and Martial Arts.


WEDNESDAYS:


Virtual Hiit Training with Ella: 7-8am
Finish out your week with your heart pumping Summer Fitness Series HIIT Class that will help you kick off your weekend feeling challenged and energized.


Chair Yoga with Karma: 10-11am
This gentle form of yoga can be done seated or standing on the ground while using a chair for support. The focus is on opening all the joints and loosening up tight muscles. Classes held at Symphony Park. No pre-registration needed.


Afrobeats Bootcamp with Afrobeats Dance Boston: 6-7pm
Afrobeats Dance Boston's classes develop and build core strength, stamina, rhythmic sensibility, and most importantly build community. This is an intermediate level class. Classes held at Ross Playground, Hyde Park. No pre-registration needed.


Zumba with Z Spot: 6-7pm

Line Dancing with Boston Rhythm Riders: 6-7pm
Line dancing is a fun socially distance activity that has all the necessary elements to improve cardiovascular health. The Rhythm Riders rotate moving from high- to low-impact line dances. Classes held at Franklin Park, Dorchester. No pre-registration needed.


THURSDAYS:


Tai Chi with Joseph: 7-8am
Tai Chi, an ancient Chinese martial art, is used as a slow-moving exercise to achieve relaxation and stress reduction. Tai Chi offers benefits for the body, mind, and spirit. Classes held at Elliot Norton Park, Boston No pre-registration needed.


Virtual Chair Yoga with Ivor: 11am-12pm
A gentle form of yoga that can be done sitting on a chair or standing on the ground while using the chair for support.


Yoga with Jacqui: 6-7pm
Yoga is a physical, mental, and spiritual practice that originated in ancient India. It challenges your mental and physical being, releases stress, and expands your energy. Instructors will provide flow movement for people of all levels. Classes held at Brighton Common, Brighton. No pre-registration needed.


Yoga with Friends Of The Public Garden: 6-7pm
Yoga is a physical, mental, and spiritual practice that originated in ancient India. It challenges your mental and physical being, releases stress, and expands your energy. Instructors will provide flow movement for people of all levels. Classes held at Boston Common. No pre-registration needed.


HIIT Training with G-Fit: 6-7pm
High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) is repeated bouts of short duration, high-intensity exercise intervals intermingled with periods of low intensity intervals of active recovery. Classes held at Billings Field (Basketball Court), West Roxbury. No pre-registration is needed.


FRIDAYS:


Virtual Barre Class with Kate: 6:15-7:15am
This Barre class is designed to help tone and strengthen your muscles by combining ballet-inspired moves with elements of pilates, dance, yoga, and strength training. Expect high repetitions, small movements, and plenty of modifications to make this the perfect workout for all fitness levels. All you need is a chair.


Fusion Fit (HIIT & Yoga) with Jacqui: 6-7pm
This combination of HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) and Vinyasa Yoga will give you an exciting, challenging and fun full body workout. Classes held at Doherty Playground, Charlestown. No pre-registration is needed.


SATURDAYS:


Virtual Strength Training Class with G-Fit: 9-10am
G-Fit Boston's strength training class will focus on range of motion and compound movements to challenge the total body for an all out workout. Be ready to work hard, sweat, and have a good time.


Restorative Yoga with Born Bi-Kim: 10-11am
Born Bi-Kim will be leading a series of restorative yoga and light meditation offerings throughout the summer, as well as light self-body massage techniques and question-and-answer time after every session. Classes held at Marcella Playground, Roxbury. No pre-registration needed.


Carnival Fit with Teneesha: 11am-12pm
This Carnival-based Afro-Caribbean group dance class targets full body transformation through the art of dance and the love of Dancehall and Soca. Classes held at Mozart Street Playground, Jamaica Plain. No pre-registration needed.


SUNDAYS:


Virtual Yoga with Susie: 7-8pm
Join Susie on Sunday evenings for a great close to your weekend, and a nice start to your upcoming week. Susie’s classes are designed as slow flow vinyasa, providing ample time for movement and awareness of your body, but also providing time to work on stretching and more relaxing postures.
