The 3rd annual Boston Kids Comics Festival, celebrating comics for children and the love of reading, is back and in person on Saturday, June 3rd after a three-year pandemic hiatus.

The premiere dedicated annual children’s comics festival in the country, BKCF is a community celebration of comics, learning, and laughter for elementary and middle schoolers, and their parents, educators, and librarians. 2023 marks a new location for BKCF: Northeastern University’s Curry Student Center at 360 Huntington Avenue, Boston MA. As ever, BKCF will host a marketplace of independent comics creators, spotlighting local authors and illustrators whose work ranges from hand-crafted zines to published graphic novels. Admission is free and open to all ages; masks are requested.

BKCF’s free-to-all programming includes hands-on workshops, where young comics-makers can get advice and guidance from professional comics-makers. One unique aspect of this festival is the Young Artists Table, where kids and teens can sell their own comics – an amazing opportunity for kids to show off their creativity!

BKCF welcomes an extraordinary line-up of graphic novelists as Featured Guests:

●       Cara Bean, author of Draw 500 Faces and Features

●       Erica Henderson, author of Danger and Other Unknown Risks and The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl (with Ryan North)

●       Marjorie Liu, author of Wingbearer (with Teny Issakhanian)

●       Michelle Mee Nutter, author of Allergic and Squished (with Megan Wagner Lloyd)

●       Chad Sell, author of Cardboard Kingdom and Doodleville

BCAF will be held on Saturday, June 3rd from 10am - 5pm, at the Curry Student Center of Northeastern University, 360 Huntington Avenue in Boston, MA.
