Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG) and video game players, supporters and fans from around the world will descend upon Boston for the 2015 Pokémon World Championships the weekend of August 21st – 23rd. The Hynes Convention Center is hosting the invitation-only tournament where 500 of the most elite Pokémon players from more than 30 countries will compete for the coveted title of 2015 Pokémon World Champion and more than $2 million in scholarships and prizes. The event is open and family-friendly and includes a variety of additional activities, non-competitive play, and appearances from Pokémon costumed characters.
Opening ceremonies for the 2015 Pokémon World Championships begin on Friday, August 21st at 9:00 A.M. with competition continuing through Saturday. Final rounds for both TCG and video game will take place throughout the day Sunday, August 23rd in advance of the closing ceremony and trophy presentation.
