The 3rd Boston Fiber Festival brings yarn and craft enthusiasts from New England and beyond for a weekend of fiber-filled fun!
Boston Fiber Festival started in 2023 with a small event held on a rainy and cold Sunday in October. Despite the bad weather the festival was a major success, with a strong turnout of crafters from all over New England!
Last year the festival grew from 14 to 21 vendors and was an even bigger success! This year we have even more planned: a kick-off party, a day of classes, and more than thirty vendors from all over the US and Europe.
On the first day attendees can participate in classes to learn Portuguese knitting, darning, and more. At the end of the first day, attendees will convene at a special mini-market and kick-off party at Dorchester Brewing Company. A paid ticket gives exclusive access to vendors the day before the festival, a swag bag, and a free drink!
Day two of the festival features a larger, expanded fiber market in the SoWa neighborhood of the South End from 11am-5pm. In addition to our vendors, the SoWa Open Market, one of the largest open-air markets in Boston, will also be on! Locals and tourists alike will enjoy over one hundred booths including food trucks, farms, and local artisans.
Fiber arts, especially knitting and crochet, have seen a major upswing in popularity since 2020, especially among younger generations. The fiber arts community has built on this with a focus on sustainability and small business. And Boston Fiber Festival embraces this and more, featuring women- and queer-owned fiber businesses. 2025 promises to bring the city of Boston a festival like no other!
