The Boston Festival Orchestra and conductor Nathaniel Meyer present Bruckner’s transcendent Symphony No. 3 in D minor on July 20th at 8pm at the University Lutheran Church in Harvard Square, 66 Winthrop Street in Cambridge. The concert is free and open to the public.
The project is inspired by exciting new musicological research into the historical interpretation of Bruckner’s symphonies. The Boston Bruckner Festival hopes to introduce new listeners to the mystical, yet often overlooked symphonies of Anton Bruckner, to cast new light on this deeply moving music and share it’s redemptive, spiritual message in our time.
The Boston Festival Orchestra features talented volunteer musicians from around the Boston area and as far away as Rhode Island, Connecticut, and Maine.
This is the first of two concerts in this summer’s inaugural Boston Bruckner Festival. The Boston Festival Orchestra will present Bruckner’s Symphony No. 4 at 8pm on August 17th at the University Lutheran Church.
