The most recognizable opening in all of classical music, Beethoven’s "Symphony No. 5," serves as the perfect launch to the BFO’s fifth anniversary Summer Stage celebration. Complementing this masterpiece is Dorothy Chang’s "Skizzen" (2020), a work that reimagines Beethoven’s iconic four-note motif, weaving it into a dynamic and innovative soundscape. The program will feature "Swept Away," a violin concerto composed by BFO Artistic Director Alyssa Wang in reflection of her late father’s battle with cancer, and will be performed by BFO Concertmaster Jae Cosmos Lee, marking a unique collaboration that showcases the artistic versatility of the Boston Festival Orchestra.
