Boston Civic's season will start with a program that includes a wonderful Boston premiere: “Celestial Navigation” by Boston based composer Marti Epstein, a captivating composition that explores forms and sounds in the boundaries of dynamic ranges. We will also play Brahms’ “Haydn Variations”. And we are delighted to have with us pianist Jonathan Bass to perform Tchaikovsky’s first piano concerto, one of the most enduring pieces of the repertoire.
