Boston Ballet: Coppéliawill run from March 11 through March 21, 2027, at the historic Citizens Opera House. Returning to the Boston Ballet stage for the first time since 2019, this acclaimed full-length comedic story ballet serves as a vibrant highlight of the company's 2026–2027 season.

Choreographed by the legendary George Balanchine, this whimsical version of Coppélia blends sparkling classical technique with lighthearted storytelling.

• The Story: Set in a bustling European village, the narrative follows the clever Swanilda and her fiancé Franz. When Franz becomes infatuated with a silent girl sitting in the window of the eccentric inventor Dr. Coppélius, Swanilda sneaks into the workshop and discovers the beauty is actually a mechanical life-sized doll.
• The Cast: The production features demanding classical roles for the company's principal dancers alongside a beloved tradition of utilizing 24 Boston Ballet School students to fill out the village ensemble.
• The Music: Léo Delibes’ iconic, melodic score is performed live by the Boston Ballet Orchestra, shifting effortlessly from clockwork rhythms to lush folk-inspired dances.
