Alex Ryvchin's new book, The 7 Deadly Myths, traces antisemitism from its earliest origins to the present day, exposing the dangerous conspiracy theories that lead people and nations to diabolical acts. Come to KI for the official book launch to hear the author speak about how antisemitism takes hold, how it is transmitted and how it can be stopped. Reception and book signing follows the presentation and Q&A.

In 2019, a young man carried out a deadly shooting in a synagogue in San Diego to avenge a notorious blood libel case from 15th century Europe. In 2018, Robert Bowers murdered 11 elderly worshippers in Pittsburgh, claiming inspiration from the Gospel of John. The musician, Kanye West conducted a weeks-long media campaign seen by millions, accusing Jews of controlling Presidents, corrupting Christian values and enslaving Black entertainers.

Each chapter of 7 Deadly Myths (The Blood Libel; Christ-killers; Global Domination; Chosen; Money; Dual Loyalties, Oppressed to Oppressors) deals with specific strands in this immemorial body of delusive theory concerning the alleged influence of "the Jews" on world affairs that recur over the centuries. Ryvchin gives a brief but wide-ranging account, using fully and accurately referenced sources, of the content, origins, and persistence of each myth in question and how to combat it.

Join Congregation Kehillath Israel and Academic Studies Press for the very first stop of Ryvchin's book tour and the official launch party!
