From the minds at Knight Moves & Quirk Events comes a celebration of all manner of games, from board games to trivia nights to puzzle rooms, and everything in between. We've been given the keys to High Street Place - a giant and wonderful food hall in the heart of Downtown Boston - with one primary directive: Pack it full of as many games as we can.
At the heart of our event is our indie board game showcase. We'll have over 20 local designers showing off games they've built for you to try. Hop from table to table, playing games in every stage of production from pen-and-paper prototype to kickstarter-ready to final products available in retail stores.
Surrounding that will be ALL manner of game programming!
Here are a few of the highlights:
D&D for First Time Players - If you've never played D&D before but always been curious as to what that world is all about, we'll have someone on hand who can teach you the game and then dive into an adventure with you!
Board Game Tournaments - We'll be featuring several board game tournaments throughout the day. Sign up to compete and show off your board game dominance.
Puzzle Hunt - tear through the halls of High Street Place on a Puzzle Hunt designed by our friends at escapely.
Rock-Paper-Scissors Tournament - That's right, we're inviting you to a battle royale to prove who the greatest rock-paper-scissors player is in all the land... or at least in Greater Boston.
Puzzle Room - We're excited to be hosting a puzzle room from the brilliant minds at Co-operatives! Co-operatives provides an interactive experience where you participate through teamwork and puzzle-solving fun. It's like an escape room without the walls.
Trivia - This trivia game is from us here at Quirk Events! We don't just churn out questions like some fly-by-night trivia organization... we pour our souls into every game we create. In honor of BOINGA, we may even have a few game-themed queries.
Feud Night - It's like Pub trivia meets Family Feu- you know what, for copyright reasons, let's not finish that word. We’ve asked 100 people a bunch of questions, and now you have to guess the most popular answer to each one.
Beat Greg at Boggle, Win a Slice of Pizza - This is a challenge where we dare to ask: Can you beat Greg at Boggle? Look, you won't win, Greg is unstoppable. But at least you can say you sat at the same table as him. And if you do somehow pull off the upset, you'll get a slice of pizza, on us. By the way, this is Big Boggle, meaning we'll have a 5x5 board with a four-letter word minimum. Because Greg don't mess around.
Board Game Designer Q&A - We're inviting a couple of local board game designers to join us for a Q&A, where they'll answer your questions about just what it's like to build board games for an audience, talking through everything from ideation to playtesting to marketing.
Please note: Space in all events is limited, and signups will be running throughout the day. The earlier you arrive, the better a chance you have of signing up for your dream events.
For those unfamiliar, High Street Place is a food hall filled with delicious offerings, so you'll be able to enjoy food and drink as you play. In fact, your ticket comes with a $5 food voucher good at any eatery in the building.
