Lucy Little is a classically-trained violinist, composer/improviser, teaching artist and Fulbright scholar, with an eclectic background in both music and public service. Described by WGN pubic radio as an "amazingly talented musician", Lucy's musical practice lives on the edge of many styles, inspired by a lifeong exploration of classical, miminalist, modal, and electronic music. From New York City originally and with roots in Chicago, Amsterdam, and now Boston, Lucy's work explores themes of risk, traveing, searching for home, and finding support and community in the oddest places. She has performed in Boston New York, and Chicago as well as internationally in the Netherands, Northern Ireland, and Greece. In 2018-19 she she was a U.S, Fulbright- Schumann scholar for the E.U. where she worked with Musicians Without Borders conducting research on how musicians work to support asylum-seekers and social inclusion practices in Europe.

Afarin Nazarijou is an award-winning qanun (a type of large zither with a trapezoidal soundboard) player from Iran who has participated in various national and international music festivals and performed with acclaimed artists such as Negar Kharkan, Mahsa Vahdat, maestro Dariush Talaei and Mohammadreza Fayaz. She started playing the Qanun at the age of five, and since then has graduated with a bachelor and masters degrees in performance from Tehran University and is now pursuing her second masters degree at the New England Conservatory with a specialization in contemporary improvisation. Afarin has ten years of experience in teaching the qanun at the Pars Music Institute, one of Iran’s most prestigious institutions.

Afarin and Lucy performed a piece at Journey's in Sound's 100th event back in February of this year. This will be their first full length concert together as they have been developing as a duo. Expect some magic from these two brilliant musicians !
