“Bodied: A Live Arts Pop-Up,” A live body arts showcase party presenting the LIVING, BREATHING works of some of Boston's most underrated, unidentified, yet extremely skilled BODY ARTISTS. This showcase will highlight on numerous body painters, makeup and hair artists, tattoo artists, fashion designers, and many more, all in a MOVING “Night at the Museum” styled gallery with human canvases.
To augment the art, we will have LIVE art, a movement session, vendors (support local businesses), musical performances and poetry by some of boston’s greatest voices, a Jam Session ran by the amazing Priscilla AZAGLO & The Black Cotton Club, and of course plenty of networking. Sounds will be by DJ Candy_Raine, so you want to be there!
Expect to see all of your favorite artists there!
About the VISION:
“Bodied” is a launch arts collaborative that will serve as the foundation of an art series aiming to highlight more of these BODY artists every so often. We want for this event to be our platform for claiming our identities in what art IS. As body artists, it is easy for us to question where we stand in the traditional visual artist community simply because we are rarely recognized in this network. We also don't use the same canvases.
For us, there is a lack of identity as artists, but through this event, we will utilize the platform to come together and show how much expression, skill, and technique goes into what we do. WE will identify our art. It is important to use this event to create a network and “coming together” of sorts, for us to reclaim our artistic identity and develop a more constant home in the traditional artist community.
