Restaurateurs Donato Frattaroli Sr. and Jr. will partner with the Quincy Animal Shelter at a special event to celebrate the newly-renovated Boardwalk Pizza and Donato's Gelato, now part of Victory Point Italian Restaurant and Bar at Marina Bay, while at that same time helping the shelter find forever homes for some of its canine residents. The event will feature several adoptable dogs while shining a spotlight on the shelter’s urgent needs and the work it does to save animals. Additionally, Father Jack Ahern of Dorchester will offer a blessing of the animals as Quincy Animal Shelter staff highlight one of those who suffered a severe hernia injury and required $4,000 in emergency surgery from the shelter.
Topping the morning off will be a ribbon cutting for the renovated Boardwalk Pizza and Donato’s Gelato, followed by tours and complimentary pizza and gelato. Restaurant patrons and community members are invited to bring their own dogs to the event to be blessed by Father Ahearn, and those looking to adopt a new family member are urged to come meet some adorable dogs who are looking for loving homes. All dogs at the event will receive complimentary “Pup Cups” specially crafted for their enjoyment.
