Founded in 1973, the award-winning Blacksmith House Poetry Series brings established and emerging writers of poetry and fiction to Harvard Square. In person readings will take place at 56 Brattle on Mondays at 8pm. Admission is $5, tickets are available at the door.
V. Penelope Pelizzon
V. Penelope Pelizzon’s third book of poems, A Gaze Hound That Hunteth by The Eye (Pitt Poetry Series, 2024) is a LitHub recommendation for 2024. Her first, Nostos, won the Poetry Society of America’s Norma Farber First Book Award; her second, Whose Flesh Is Flame, Whose Bone Is Time, was a finalist for the Anthony Hecht Poetry Prize.
Carl Phillips
Carl Phillips is the author of 17 books of poetry, including, most recently, Scattered Snows, to the North (2024) and Then the War: And Selected Poems 2007-2020, which won the 2023 Pulitzer Prize.
