The internationally renowned repertory company Les Ballets Jazz de Montréal, or BJM, defies categories with its blend of hip, funky moves infused with infectious energy, humor, and imagination. Led by artistic director Louis Robitaille, BJM presents the Boston premiere of O Balcão de Amor by choreographer Itzak Galili, inspired by Pérez Prado’s classic Cuban mambo music. The energetic and sensual piece is infused with comedic sparks and charming absurdity that aims to return us to our youth with all its hopes and dreams. The company will also perform other works from its vast repertoire.
