A love story set among a community that was almost entirely lost to the Holocaust. It’s 1942 and German law has been imposed in Thessaloniki, where Estrea, a young Jewish girl, has fallen in love with Yorgos, a Christian boy who works in a small nightclub. The club acts as a retreat from the atmosphere that has taken over the city and people gather there to hear famed bouzouki player, Vasilis Tsitsanis. But as the Nazis close in on the city, even the club becomes tense and Estrea and Yorgos are forced to make life changing decisions. Based on the book Ouzeri Tsitsanis by George Skarbadonis.
