The Hawaiian Mission Houses Historic Site and Archives commemorates the 200th anniversary of the first Congregational mission to Hawai‘i with “The Hawai‘i, New England Connection,” a 30-day tour of History Theatre, panel discussions, and cultural events.
The "Bicentennial Commemoration Event" is hosted by historic Park Street Church and culminates our time in New England. Join us on October 23rd--the actual 200th anniversary day of the pioneer company's departure from Boston for Hawai‘i in 1819--to commemorate the connection between New England and Hawai‘i with a sharing of history and music, in English and Hawaiian, and a performance of “My Name is ʻŌpūkahaʻia.” Held at Park St. Church, free of charge. This event is not to be missed!
