Belly Dance with Finger Cymbals for Beginners
This 2 hour workshop is designed for absolute beginners. Do you find finger cymbals intimidating as an additional layer to your study of belly dance? Feel like an uncoordinated fish out of water trying to dance and play cymbals at the same time? This workshop is for YOU!
Designed for beginners, all levels of belly dance experience are welcome at this workshop. A minimum of 6 months of belly dance classes would be ideal, but please don't let it stop you from joining us. Often, the sooner you become comfortable with finger cymbals in your dance training the easier it will be in the future. More experienced dancers are also welcome if you'd like to get some drills in with cymbals!
Though we will start from the beginning with cymbals, it is recommended that you have the elastic secured on your cymbals in some fashion before coming to this workshop. Leeza will share some tips for how to do this as the workshop date gets closer.
The workshop will cover a variety of topics about cymbals including the types of sounds you can create with them, the different methodologies you may observe from dance instructors about how to approach playing them, tips on when to play and when not to play and more!
