Bella, An Immigrant's Tale, written and performed by Vicki Summers, recounts the challenges and triumphs of a young woman who survived the pogroms in Ukraine at the turn of the 20th century to create a new life in the United States. Bella has been performed throughout the Northeast, most recently on Cape Cod. The May 25th performance at The Cabot in Beverly will be a benefit for today's Ukrainian refugees.
Admission to Bella will be by donation, with suggested levels of donation at $25, $50, and $100 per person. Larger donations are needed and welcome. More information and registration at leadingladiesvote.org and thecabot.org.
The event is co-sponsored by The Cabot and Leading Ladies, an activist group committed to equal access for all to quality education, health care, food, housing, jobs, and political representation. Leading Ladies also works towards common sense gun laws, humane immigration policies, and the sustainability of our planet.
