The Umbrella Community Arts Center in Concord presents writer/photographer Joe Wallace's powerful exhibition, "Beginning at the End: Portraits of Dementia," now extended by demand though July 7, 2019.
The exhibit is a photographic portrait project humanizing people affected by Alzheimer's and dementia by challenging the audience to consider the subject and their lifetime of experience even if they can no longer access or share their memories.
Wallace's goal is to challenge perceptions about what aging with Alzheimer's and dementia looks like. To use empathy as means for connection and understanding. To tell story after story of these amazing humans so we truly see THEM not just their diagnosis.
