Beginner West Coast Swing Class & Social Dance

Come learn west coast swing (WCS)! It's a popular style of partner dancing that's easy to pick up and can be danced to all of your favorite music, including pop, R&B, jazz, country, and more. We'll teach you the basic moves, how to improvise with a partner, and then set you loose to social dance with all of your new friends. The best part? No small talk required.

What do need:

✅ A love of dance

✅ Willingness to try something new

✅ Clean shoes that stay on your feet (bring your dancing shoes in your bag, especially if it's raining- any comfy shoe you have in your closet will work just fine)

What you don't need:

❌ A dance partner

❌ Previous dance experience

❌ Sense of rhythm

❌ Athletic abilities

The Logistics

• Date: Saturday, July 11th
• Time: beginner WCS class 8pm-9pm, WCS social dancing with live DJ 9pm-11:45pm
• Location: George Dilboy VFW Post 529, 351 Summer Street, Somerville, MA (directions)
• Price: $20, includes the beginner WCS class and social dancing afterwards
