Bees Deluxe at the Porch

Boston, MA – In response to Jamie Lee Curtis’ request for more matinees, The Porch Southern Fare & Juke Joint is excited to announce that the high-octane acid blues band, Bees Deluxe, will perform on Saturday, May 13th, at 1 pm. This modern, four-piece blues band has played with some of the most respected musicians in the blues world, including Ronnie Earl, Joanne Shaw Taylor, Matt Schofield, Roomful of Blues, Walter Trout, and David Maxwell. Bees Deluxe has received rave reviews wherever they play, from Maine to Florida, showcasing a catalog of originals and classic uniquely rearranged covers. The band has been in the studio and will bring some never before heard songs and tunes to the stage at this show.

With their infectious enthusiasm and impeccable musicality, Bees Deluxe has been pushing the limits of the blues and coloring outside the lines of convention. According to Blues Blast Magazine, the band is "...what might happen if Freddie King took a lot of acid then wrote a song with Pat Metheny and asked a strung-out Stevie Ray Vaughan to take a solo."

The four-piece band is spearheaded by British guitarist Conrad Warre with  Carol Band on keyboards, harmonica, and vocals, Jim Gildea on bass and vocals and Paul Giovine on drums. Each musician brings their own experience to the mix, with Band recruited from jazz bands playing the Boston circuit, Giovine discovered playing rock and roll in punk rock clubs in New England, and Gildea drafted to Bees Deluxe by Giovine after sharing the stage with him at several country-bro festivals.

The Porch Southern Fare & Juke Joint, located at 175 Rivers Edge Drive in Medford, Massachusetts, was established by proud Southerner and Nashville native Chef Jonathan Post, The Porch pays tribute to Southern food, music, art, and hospitality. The menu highlights the regional cuisines of the South, from low country to soul food to Cajun, along with an authentic whole hog barbecue program courtesy of a custom-built 1000 lb wood-fired smoker. Chef Jonathan Post serves up authentic iterations of classic dishes like skillet cornbread, pimento cheese, bbq pork, and Nashville Hot Fried Chicken, while also exploring modern southern cuisine and the exciting things happening now south of the Mason Dixon line.
