Are you looking to develop your life drawing skills? In this 3-hour workshop, Spaceus member Sharon Lacey will introduce students to some of the tried and true methods of the 19th century art academies. Working from the live model in a series of short and long poses, you will learn how to sight properly. You will also gain some knowledge of linear proportions and artistic anatomy. As you draw the model and put these lessons into practice, you will receive individualized instruction—all in the relaxed atmosphere of Spaceus.
All experience levels are welcome, as life drawing is a valuable skill for everyone. Drawing from life can deepen your engagement with reality, help you focus on the present moment, and inspire you to more fully appreciate humans in their frail, fleshy magnificence. Drawing is a splendid, low-tech way to record your impressions of the people who populate your life.
You’ll need drawing paper, pencils, and charcoal.
