350 Main Street
Coffee Shop Artists and 350 Main are hosting Beauty and Balance exhibit at 350 Main Street, Malden for the month of March. Opening night is Friday, March 3rd from 6 pm to 8 pm.
Local artists from the North of Boston area, featured in the exhibit at 350 Main, Malden, Massachusetts include Sandy Felder, Betsey Cogswell, Linda Dolph, Nikita Sampath, Yana Lapaix, Lidia Russell, Carianne Roche, Beth Copp, Carol Schena, Sally Bowman Gordon, Jamie Kaplowitz Gibbons, Fanuel Muindi, Hiranmoy Guha, Sarah Morrison, Karyn Alzayer, Beth Smith, Lori Manfra, Ed Barrett, Mohamed Bachiri, Carol Farese-Viola, Andy Levine, Michael Brown, Ania Borto, Jen Moltoni, Jayne Leland, Karin Samatis, Tracy Bailer, Elena Stone, Kerry Pegorano, Joseph Youveline, and Elise MacDonald.
Come to the opening to talk with the artists and/or visit on your own during the week. See what you can find that is beauty and balance juxtaposing together in various perspectives, like in this quote from Alice Walker “In nature, nothing is perfect and everything is perfect. Trees can be contorted, bent in weird ways, and they're still beautiful.” Artists interpreted Beauty and Balance through various mediums including photography, collage, sculpture, paint, and mixed media. The images and objects in the exhibit can be viewed through the lens of artists’ closeness to our own understanding of beauty and balance, yet they may also make us question our ideals.
Sponsored by “Coffee Shop Artists” and “350 Main”
350 Main Gallery is open during weekday hours of 10 am to 5 pm.
